Heritage by Paige Eliason
Find a store near you! Printable Project Card
I used the tan vellum to soften the bright colors and design which I felt lent itself to an aged look and feel. Otherwise, the patterned paper was too bright and busy. It also did not have a heritage/aged feel to it until I put the vellum on top. I made color copies of the letter and envelope because I wanted to preserve the original letter and envelope along with several others that would not fit in the album. I sprayed the original with Archival Mist and Paper Bright, then placed them in an archival safe sleeve. I wasn't concerned about using adhesive on the letter because it was a copy.
Supplies
  • Patterned Paper (Stars & Stripes on White, Design Originals)
  • Pastel Tan Vellum (Paper Pizazz, Hot Off The Press)
  • Cardstock (White, Navy & Red by Scrappapers.net)
  • Glue Pen (Zig 2-Way Chisel Tip, EKSuccess)
  • Adhesive (Glue Dots)
  • Star Eyelets (Unknown)
  • Eyelet Setter (American Tag)
  • Kodak Picture Maker
  • Decorative Scissors (Deckle, Provo Craft)
  • eA-Zy Punch Set (Alphabet & Numbers, The Punch Bunch)
Instructions

Begin by making copies of the photograph on The Kodak Picture Maker. I enlarged and cropped this photograph.

Double mat the photograph with white and navy cardstock.

Using your home printer and scanner or take the original documents to a copy center and make a color copy. Cut the edges of the copies with Deckle scissors.

Trim the patterned paper and vellum leaving enough around the edge to mat them with a 12x12 solid piece of cardstock.

Mount the vellum to the patterned paper creating a softer, more aged look. I applied the adhesive where I planned to put the photo and documents so it couldn't be seen through the vellum.

Create tag-like titles using a paper trimmer and alphabet/number punches. Adhere the letters and numbers using tweezers and a glue pen.

Apply star eyelets to the tags using a hand held eyelet setter.
