Courage Teachers by Deborah L. Lewis |
|
This is a layout of Jacob and his ROTC teacher. The Colonel became an important part of Jacob’s life this past year as he struggled to fit into high school. Jacob enjoys ROTC and I would often find divots in the yard where he had been practicing his military turns.

Instructions
1. Cut strips from three different pattern papers of 3.5”, 1.25”, and 2” wide and 12” long. Center and place the strips vertically in the center of the page. Cut a strip of paper 1.75” wide and 12” long to run horizontally under the photo. Weave that piece underneath the other vertical strips and adhere.
2. Cut a piece of patterned paper with stars 2.5” long and 1” wide, tearing the bottom of the piece. Cut a second piece from the Deluxe Designs 1.75” x 1.25” tearing the top part of the piece. Adhere both pieces to the bottom right of the page.
3. Add matted 5” x 7” photo.
4. Place metal letters on contrasting blue paper (left over from all the cutting of the Kaiser paper) and cut to size. Place the matted letter diagonally 1” from the photo.
5. Place transparency over the entire layout. Cut small slits on either side of the photo for the star clips. Slip the clips through the transparency and attach them to the matted photo. This will hold your transparency in place without adding any adhesive.
