Our Angel
Babies by Gracie Ann D. Tan
Find a store near you! Printable Project Card
I've always considered myself as a frugal scrapper. I always keep even small bits of left over scraps like patterned papers, ribbons and even the packaging of some materials. You'll never know what you can create with all those left overs. Well I had a lot of left over patterned papers on hand so I decided to make them useful by using them on this simple layout. It's a layout I made about my dear daughter who I consider my angel even though at times she can really be a handful. Journal reads:" You're truly heaven sent. God's greatest gift to us! You'll always be my little angel."
Supplies
  • Adhesive: Craft Glue (UHU)
  • Cardstock: scalloped snow (Bazzill Basics)
  • Die Cut: Kaitlin Collection cardstock wings (Crate Paper)
  • Patterned Papers: Phoebe collection (BasicGrey), Kaitlin collection (Crate Paper), Holiday collection (KI Memories), Inked Heirloom collection (Polar bear Press), Playlist collection (Daisy Bucket Designs)
  • Ink: black Whispers (Sugarloaf Inc.)
  • Pen: black St. Tropez I (Marvy Uchida)
  • Stamp: See D's Round to Journaling (Ink Botique)
  • Sticker: Thickers hatbox-light pink (American Crafts)
  • Thread: DMC
  • Tools: circle cutter (Making Memories), Paper Shapers scissors (Provo Craft)
Instructions

1. Cut strips of different patterned papers approximately 1"x4" each and trim off some of the papers edges using a paper shapers scissors.

2. Adhere the strips on the white scalloped cardstock to create a matting for the photo.

3. Adhere the photo on top of the strips and cross-stitch the top and bottom part of the photo with the DMC thread.

4. To create a journaling piece, use a circle cutter and cut out a 2 1/2 inch circle from a patterned paper.

5. Stamp the Round to Journaling stamp on the circle journaling piece using black ink.

6. Adhere the die cut wings behind the journaling piece and write your journal.

7. Glue the journaling piece on the lower right corner of the photo.

8. Add the title using Thickers alphabet stickers.

I am Gracie Ann D. Tan from the Philippines, married to a loving husband, Mark and a mother to a very cute daughter named Marcie. I am a lover of arts & crafts and have been for almost 10 years now. I started scrapbooking in 1999 but stopped along the way. I then fell in love with other crafts like card making, cross-stitching, paper crafts and creating new things from recycled materials. I found my way back to scrapbooking again last July 2008 when I attended my first Scrap Jam here in the Philippines and I've been hooked to the art again since then. My style with my creations vary depending on my mood or inspiration. I always see to it that every work of art I make is created with love.
