A recipe layout with an art poster as inspiration.
Supplies
  • Three Shades of Brown Cardstock (Bazzill Basics)
  • Green Cardstock (Bazzill Basics)
  • White Textured Cardstock (Bazzill Basics)
  • Carl Personal Cutter (Carl)
  • Computer Fonts-Hot Tamale (Downloaded from www.dafont.com)
  • Computer Font-CK Inky Font (Downloaded from www.letteringelights.com)
  • Caffe Espresso Art Poster (Gauthier)
  • Scissors (Fiskar’s)
  • HERMAfix Vario Tabs (HERMA/EK Success)
Instructions

1. Choose a design for incorporation on the recipe layout. Photos, pictures cut from magazines or copied from books or the Internet provide numerous choices. Using the piece of art as inspiration, adapt elements for incorporation in your design.

2. Choose a piece of 8 ½"x 11" cardstock for the background of the layout.

3. Print art poster on white textured cardstock. Cut the "art poster" to measure 3½" x 4".

4. Measure for placement of recipe and transfer measurements to computer to set up printing. Print on rust colored cardstock. Title is printed in Hot Tamale. Recipe uses CK Inky font.

5. Cut two strips of green cardstock 1/8" wide. Place one strip on background 1½" from bottom edge.

6. Freehand two curved strips from dark brown cardstock to resemble steam from hot coffee.

7. Adhere recipe to background cardstock.

8. Adhere curved strips to left edge of recipe cardstock.

9. Adhere second green strip on top of recipe, 1¼" from bottom edge and overlapping curved strips.

10. Adhere "art poster" to layout, overlapping curved strips.
