I have more pictures of Halloween than I know what to do with! I just love watching the little ones get all dressed up and go trick or treating. At my daughter's age, she gets to dress up 3 times! Once for Halloween, once for the school party, and once for The Denver Zoo's "Boo At The Zoo" where they have trick or treating stations and many other fun things for the kids to do. So as you can imagine, I have a ton of pictures of her in the same costume, just different days. I like all of them but know I can't scrap them all. Then there is the whole time issue. Where would I get enough of that ever-dwindling resource? So my solution is simple… simple pages that is! It is the best way to get things done when you are in a time crunch. In "Jack O" Lantern," our new design team member, Laura Wolf, used matting and stickers only to get the page done quickly. Another way to get things done quick, is to use pages that are patterned to give a specific affect. Such as in the layout I did called "Boo At The Zoo." I love the Scrap Pads by Provo Craft. In the Quilted Pages Volume II, they have many pages that look as if they are really embellished. The work is done for you! In this layout, I used pages that look like there is stitching on them. I used die cuts for the title, mounted my pictures, and I was done! Another example of the same Scrap Pad put to use is the layout I created called "Monster's Parade." Again, there is simulated stitching and dimension to these pages that I just love. This was another simple, and quick layout. I used matting, stickers, and just to add a little something extra, I hand cut the journaling boxes. So as you can see, you don't always need to go hog wild with embellishments, and extras. Especially when there are more pictures to crop than time to crop them! Happy scrapping!
