On my vacation I had random themes so I decided to put them together based on family. I used a postcard and a picture of the place we went to for the title page and a panoramic picture to show what a wonderful view we had from the house we stay at.

The front steps were the favorite meeting place for our family so many our pictures took place here. On my layout of Jake hugging the iron hitching post on the front steps I added heart buttons to give it whimsical country feel. Little boys sitting together was my next theme and I found a delightful poem that fit my photos perfectly and put it on a tag. Also in the front was a natural spring fountain that the kids played in. Stickers made this layout fun. I used the pop dot technique on the water drops that Nicole used for the fish.
I was also able to capture some priceless moments of my son with his father and his grandfather. I've had this wonderful check paper for sometime and never knew what to do with it, I loved using it for the mats as well as the letters. I had some antique buttons that reminded me of Bobpa and thought it would be neat to glue them on his page.

So whether you start your vacation album base on length, type or just because it's family. Begin with one subject at a time and then one layout at a time, and before you know it your album will be ready for your holiday visitors to marvel at.
