This article includes projects for beginner to intermediate stampers.

Anyone can be Irish for a day! No matter what your heritage may be, March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, is one day of the year when we can all be Irish. Wearing green is one of the most well known St. Patrick’s Day traditions. A dinner of corned beef and cabbage is another.

It’s fun to surprise Irish friends (and those who want to be Irish for the day!) with greeting cards to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. You won’t need to collect lots of extra supplies to complete these cards, and you can creatively use the same stamp(s) to create a number of different looks. Your imagination is the limit.

While "Irish Lace" is not adorned with authentic Irish lace, it is a tribute to the beautiful lace of Irish tradition. Charms and checked green ribbon accentuate the soft touch of the lace.

Irish Blessing, by Darcie’s Country Folk, was used in all of these cards, yet all have a slightly different style. Children will be delighted to receive Pocketful of Blessings, especially when it is filled with a special treat. A movie pass or gift certificate to a favorite store would be perfect. Cash, everyone’s favorite green, would also be appreciated. The pocket card is suitable for any occasion. Change the color and/or theme to suit the occasion.

Much of the nation is still in the thick of winter when March 17th rolls around. This renders the Irish Rose an even more welcome sight, as it reminds us that spring, full of promise and blossoms, is just around the corner.

The tag that graces the "Lace ‘n Green" greeting card above might easily adapt to become a reader’s favorite bookmark. While ready-made tags may be more convenient at times, I appreciate the opportunity to make a tag in any size or color, especially since tags are not difficult or time-consuming to make. While making use of those endless scraps of cardstock, tags can also embellish cards and other projects.
