During the HIA Convention in Dallas, Texas in February, Suze Weinberg was kind enough to show us the wonders of Mold Making using the Mold-n-Pour Custom Mold Compound from Ranger, Inc. In this fabulous step-by-step Suze unravels the mysteries and magic of the blue and white Mold-n-Pour compound to create truly wonder works of art.

1. Take equal parts of the blue and white Mold-n-Pour custom mold compound.

2. Mix Mold-n-Pour compounds together by aggressively kneading and pulling until it becomes a solid blue color with no white streaks. This should take no longer than 20-30 seconds.

3. Roll Mold-n-Pour putty into a ball.

4. Depress object to be molded into Mold-n-Pour, allowing the edges to form a well over the sides, but do not overlap the object being molded.

5. Set aside and allow Mold-n-Pour compound to set for 5 minutes. Please note that Mold-n-Pour responds quickly in warm rooms. Do not expose Mold-n-Pour to extreme cold, as it will damage and ruin the chemical components of it.

6. Remove object from the mold.

7. Using the Melting Pot, melt Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE). Allow UTEE to melt completely.

8. When UTEE has melted add UTEE F-L-E-X to melting pot and allow F-L-E-X to melt. Please note that you should allow both the UTEE and the F-L-E-X to melt in the melting pot by itself. Refrain from mixing or stirring so that you don’t allow any air bubble to form in the UTEE/F-L-E-X mixture. You can help the melting process along by putting the cover on the melting pot to keep the heat inside. UTEE F-L-E-X is an additive that will add strength, durability and flexibility to your UTEE projects. It should be noted that it will not make the UTEE unbreakable, but it will help to preserve the strength and structural integrity of your UTEE art work.

9. Pour the melted UTEE/F-L-E-X from the melting pot directly into the mold. Do not worry if some of the mixture overflows the mold, it can be re-melted and used for another project.

10. Allow UTEE/F-L-E-X to cool and harden inside of the mold.

11. Remove the harden UTEE/F-L-E-X from the mold.

12. Trim away any excess UTEE and embellish your piece with Perfect Pearls.

13. Add Zamora Beads to complete the piece.
