Suze Weinberg is always generous with her time at trade shows. Once again, Suze took time out to let me photograph one of her Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel techniques.
Supplies:
Black Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel – UTEE (Ranger)
Melt Art Craft Squares (Ranger)
Non-Stick Craft Sheet (Ranger)
Angle Tweezers (Suze Weinberg Design Studio)
The Melting Pot (Ranger)
Perfect Pearls in Several Colors (Ranger)
24 kt Gold Color It! Pigment Ink (Ranger)
Perfect Pinback (Suze Weinberg Design Studio)
Graphic Rubber Stamp (Starving Artistamps)
Heat It! Craft Tool (Ranger)
Melt Black UTEE in The Melting Pot. Place Craft Square in the melted Black UTEE with tweezers.
Remove coated Craft Square with tweezers (careful! It’s hot!) and place on Non-Stick Craft Sheet to cool.
Once the UTEE has cooled inspect it to see if there are edges that are not even. If so, take a pair of non-stick scissors and trim off the edges. Pick up the trimmed square and begin to add Perfect Pearls to the covered side of Craft Square.
Once you have all the surface covered with a mixture of Perfect Pearls, set aside.
Using Gold Color It Pigment Ink, Ink a large geometric stamp.
Using Heat It Craft Tool, heat the Perfect Pearls-covered Craft Square to liquefy the UTEE.
Place inked stamp onto the melted UTEE and leave in place as the UTEE cools.
When the UTEE cools, remove the Craft Square. There may be some run-over of UTEE on the edges. Using the non-stick scissors, cut off any strings or edges that are not wanted.
Note: You may find that there is extra pigment that does not immediately dry. You can rub it off with a paper towel, if you would like. This shows the colors from the Perfect Pearls more readily.
Attach Perfect Pin Back.
