At Memory Trends in October, Beth Cote demonstrated using scraps and parts left from other projects to create mini works of art. You can use these decorated slide mounts in your pages, on your cards, as gift tags and other embellishments.

Here’s what you’ll need:
  • Lavender and Lace Transparency (Tapestry)
  • Stamp J20143 (Renaissance Art)
  • Black StazOn Ink (Tsukineko)
  • Lavender and Lace Slide Mount (Tapestry)
  • Scissors (Fiskars)
  • Glue Stick (UHU)
  • Sliver 1/8” Eyelet (Making Memories)
  • Eyelet Setter (Making Memories)
  • Silver Ball Chain (Artist’s Own)
  • Silver Distressed Metal Tag Charm and Twill Tape (Tapestry)
  • Zots (Thermoweb)
Stamp your image onto a scrap of transparency with Black StazOn ink. Set it aside to dry.

The next thing we did was take apart the slide mount so that we could use a different transparency inside the slide mount. Don’t be afraid to take things apart and experiement! Below you can see the slide mount, with its original transparency insert, along with the twill tape we’re also going to use on the project. The photo next to it shows the disassembled slide mount.

Using the transparency you removed from the slide mount as a guide, cut around your stamped image.

Place your transparency in the slide mount. Take care not to place the transparency over the hole in the slide mount. Use glue stick to close up the slide mount once your image is positioned.

Set eyelet in the hole on the slide mount and push chain through.

Attach twill tape and charm to slide mount using Zots glue dots. Be sure to wrap it all the way around, so that your slide mount is two-sided.
