Spring has sprung and I hope you are enjoying the warm weather and beautiful flowers as much as I am. This time of year is so inspiring with the rebirth of nature and the joy of family celebrations. Because of this revitalizing time of year, I want to inspire you with ideas to create cards of encouragement using cardstock, stamps, and patterned paper. My wish is that you will be encouraged by these creations and share the joy with others.

Let’s start with a card to celebrate the cherished family moments of Easter Sunday. White cardstock and Patterned Paper, both from The Paper Patch, fold together in a colorful and easy-to-make card. To make this card, fold a piece of white cardstock and cover the front with Easter Words paper. A strip of Denim Blue cardstock attached with colorful pastel brads creates a border between the Easter paper and the Pink, Yellow, and Periwinkle Blue Retro Dots paper. On the inside, a sentimental handwritten note can make this card a fun and unique gift.

The second card celebrates spring with products from Stampin’ Up!. Whether you’re interested in scrapbooking, card making, or any other paper craft, cardstock from Stampin’ Up! is ideal for your project needs. Available in both 12” x 12” and 8 ½” x 11”, this cardstock is dyed with pure color all the way through, and is available in exclusive colors. To make this card, Bashful Blue cardstock is folded with the word “Celebrate” stamped with Bashful Blue ink on the front. A thin strip of Certainly Celery cardstock is cut and attached across the card for a ribbon look. Flowers are stamped on white cardstock and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals for a fun touch. Add a note of encouragement inside, and this card is ready to go!

Celebrate the season another way with this Happy Spring card. With one card, you can incorporate numerous techniques and styles to personalize the look and feel of your message. For example, this card includes:
• Paper piercing along the side of the flower
• Sewing along the line of the stem
• Curling along the edge of the cardstock
• Stamped words (“spring” and “happy”) and an image (the flower)

Boxer Scrapbooks has created the following card to celebrate the birth of a baby girl. Boxer Scrapbooks carries CD Tin Album Templates and pre-cut Tin Album pages to use for cards, scrapbooks, albums, and more. The template allows you to use whatever cardstock or paper fits with your project. This card is made with two pieces of pre-cut Bright Pink Album pages and the template for measuring and accuracy. The top of the card is scored and the pages connected with eyelets. Each eyelet is decorated with a paper flower and a piece of pink netting. The “C” in the message is made by matting a large letter sticker with pink and white cardstock. The rest of the message is made with letter stickers placed directly onto the card. The journaling inside has been printed on the computer with a simple message, “It’s a girl!” You can add more to the inside message, create your own, or hand-write a personalized note to express congratulations.

Let your family and friends know how much you care about them with a handmade card. We could all use a bit of encouragement now and then, so open your heart and give someone else a smile.
