This is a technique inspired by my huge wedding photograph which has been framed this way. I love the way it looks and it works great in attracting all the attention to the photograph. To try out this technique, simply follow a few steps.

Cut a frame out of cardstock and cut out a mat for the photograph. I’ve used white cardstock and vellum for matting my photograph.

Punch some holes on the matting and also on the frame. Tip: try to position your holes on the frames and the matting to later create the desired twines threading design.

Use a long piece of twine and thread through the holes alternately between the holes on the matting and the holes on the frame. Tips: leave some lengths of twine in the beginning to ease sealing the knot at the end.

After that, you will have an interesting “Twines Framed Photograph” to scrap with.

This is the finished layout of mine titled “Dancing Sticks”. The twines framed photograph had given this layout so much more depth and it really draws all the attention to the photograph in the layout.

Try this technique today and tell me what you think of it! For more techniques and projects, you can refer to my personal blog at http://scrapperlicious.blogspot.com.
