Rock and roll isn’t just for music fans! If you are a stamper and you are looking for a way to add depth and a little pizzazz to your images, then the rock and roll technique is a simple way to accomplish this. This technique works best with solid stamps as opposed to outline images.
Choose two to three ink colors, usually one light and two darker shades that coordinate with your project. Ink the image first in the lighter color first. This is done so that you don’t get dark ink onto your light-colored ink pads. Next, roll the edges of the stamp in the darker color, being careful not to get any ink on the center of the stamp. Repeat with another color if desired. Stamp image on cardstock.
I created a few cards to show you how much fun you can have with the rock and roll technique. Enjoy!
My name is Dori Shelton and I am a USMC spouse and stay at home mom to three children, 7, 3 and 2 years old. I have been scrapbooking and stamping for almost 5 years, and thoroughly enjoy inspiring others as well as being inspired. I believe that preserving memories in a fun and exciting way for future generations is not only a great thing to do, but also a unique way to connect the past to the future. I also think that a handmade greeting given to someone is a fabulous way to let them know how much they mean to you.
