Vacations are so much fun. You gather memorabilia and take dozens of roles of film. But, how can you possibly start to scrapbook these memorable vacations? How do you remember everything that happened and what you did where? Here are some simple solutions to get your travels organized: Bring a memorabilia pocket. Whether it is a ziplock bag or a plastic envelope that you use for your scrapbook supplies, bring one... or two! Also bring smaller versions for those tiny things that you pick up along the way. In the smaller bags, you can store tiny memorabilia, sand and coins. Bring a journal and pen. Write an entry in your journal each morning as you start your day and write a second entry before you go to bed. Journal the day, date and time of events in sequential order. This will help you write your journaling in your scrapbooks, when you return home. You can also tear out these journal entries to include in your scrapbooks. I also like to include an outlined itinerary at the beginning of each vacation’s scrapbook. These entries will allow you to create an itinerary with ease. Collect any memorabilia you would like to include in your scrapbooks. Take brochures, pamphlets and business cards from all places you visit. Keep other memorabilia such as coins, stir sticks, maps, menus, matches, seashells, pens, tickets, receipts and anything else you can find. If you don’t end up including it on your layout about that particular place you visited, you can always include it in a general pocket page for that location. Take photos at each location you visit, whether it be a tourist destination or landmark, or even a store or restaurant! Take photos of you and your family inside and outside of the location. It will give those that view your scrapbooks more than one dimension of each place you visit.

Enjoy your upcoming summer vacations and enjoy document those memories in your scrapbooks!
