Scrapbooking is all about preserving the past and cherishing memories. And it can't be done rifling through old shoe boxes. In this month, challenge yourself to pull out those old photos and start organizing them so that you will be able to get them in albums. What better time to remember a precious chapter in your kids' life than when they are about to embark on a new adventure?
And here's an idea for Father's Day. When my dad turned 60 I got a list of all his friends from the past 6 decades and had them each do a page. I gave them brief instructions (and included a pen so I knew it would be archival). Once I got all my Dad's friends' pictures in, my wife and I compiled the scrapbook and presented it to him. I can't remember the last time I saw my Dad look like that. Probably watching me or one of my sisters being born. It was a moment I won't soon forget. And you can do the same with your brothers and sisters on Father's Day. And if you're an only child, think about doing one page a year that reflects on something that reminds you how great it is to have the Dad you do. We all have something to be truly proud of in this life, and this is a great month to remember that.
