With a retail cost of only $29.99, the HP Creative Scrapbook Assistant is an extremely affordable tool for any scrapbooker with a computer and a printer!
The program comes pre-loaded with shapes, a color palette, layouts, and some clip art. For inspiration, the CK 2003 Hall of Fame, Vintage Workshop, and some standard shapes are included in the mix. For this first page, I used the CK Hall of Fame template and I created this layout of my niece. Now, the original had different colors, but it was easy to change the colors to fit my photo.
The page templates are grouped by theme to make it easy for you to create the perfect layout for your photos in minutes. See below how the same layout template is used for both a boy and a girl layout. Simply changing the colors and a few details, these pages are coordinated and ready to print out and either place in my scrapbook as they are or to embellish with dimensional accessories or to send off to a family member.

Are you a scrapbooker who prefers 8 ½" x 11" layouts? There are templates for these layouts, as well. With a bit more work, the layout below was created by using transparent layers. The layers give the look of vellum without the cutting and tacking.

You can scan in your own shapes and add them to your library. You can also add clipart and images. The program allows you to create your own shapes. No matter how detailed you want your scrapbook pages to be, this program’s diversity makes it a great program for the scrapper who wants to go digital.
