Throughout the school year, I collected notes, pictures, and artwork. I attended many of the school functions, and took lots of photos. I kept all the photos, school stickers, papers, and embellishments together in a bag. It was screaming to be scrapped.
William was very involved with making this album. He helped pick out the papers, and the star brads. He put dots on the paper where he wanted the brads and I poked the holes for him. William wrote several words throughout the book and the cover title. He contributed his own artwork to the album. He picked out which pictures would go on which pages. I could see that he really took pride in this creation we were making together.
The last day of school finally arrived. His teacher opened it in front of the whole class and all of the kids crowded around to see their photos in her book. His teacher was holding back the tears. She gave me huge hugs, and thanked me, a lot. I received a letter from her saying, “Words cannot even express how much I love that photo scrapbook! I have looked at it many times and am constantly amazed at all the small details that make it so perfect. I truly appreciate all the time that you put into it.”
The “Thank You” album was a great project for my son and me. We did it together and both of us took much pride in the book. It was actually hard to give it away, but it showed his teacher how much she is appreciated.
