A Scrapper’s Woes
by Sandra Davis
Scissors, scissors everywhere,
But I can’t find even one pair.
Do you hide when I need you?
Oh, my face is turning blue
From bending down to look for you.
I even looked behind the door,
But heaven knows what that was for.
Why don’t you stay where you are put?
I need to hang you on a hook.
I know I have at least ten pairs.
I place them nearly everywhere.
But when I need one, then I find
That tho’ I search, I must be blind.
So with my teeth I must attack
The task of opening this new pack
Of scissors that I today have bought
So you would be just where I thought.
Editor’s Note: Thank you for sharing, Sandra. I had to laugh, it’s so true.
I don’t think calls have gone out from you for winter-holiday projects yet (unless I’ve missed one) so I want to make sure I catch you early. If I am remembering correctly, scrapbooking.com is the online magazine where last year’s holidays issue covered Christmas and Kwanzaa, without any Hanukkah projects/inspiration included. I wrote at the time, but didn’t receive a response, so I’m not sure if this was due to a lack of submissions or a conscious decision to eliminate the holiday.
As the owner of jewish-scrapbooking.com, I know many scrapbookers who are interested in seeing Jewish projects represented in publications, and also a number who can create beautiful projects for calls or on demand. I hope that if you want specific types of projects for the winter-holidays issue this year, you’ll let me know what you need so I can get the word out to the designers you’re looking for. Alternately, I could send you contact information for some designers and you could contact them on your own.
Please let me know what I can do to help.

Editor’s Note: We do put a call out for all 3 holidays for the December issue, but if you felt that Hanukkah was ignored, I apologize and want to add that we are limited to what is submitted to us. We put out the artwork calls each month, but can't guarantee that every category will be filled each time. We do our best to be fair and would never purposely leave out any religion, race or otherwise. Thank you for your patience and understanding, please contact me with any further questions or comments.
