Our son got engaged this summer and I wanted to document the occasion with a layout. Keith and his girlfriend are definitely country people. Her family has a small farm and she loves the outdoors. Keith fits in there perfectly, so I didn't want anything too feminine or frilly for this layout. I wanted it to portray their personalities some too. I thought the little bit of lace was just enough to make it stand out from an everyday layout and the pearls give it a little bit of a romantic feel. A few flowers, chipboard and a beautiful journaling spot made the layout exactly what I wanted it to be. I didn't know until about a month later that their wedding colors would be red and black - the perfect beginning to a wedding album.

Perhaps you have tended to lean towards pink and red for your valentine and love layouts. Generally that can be very nice, but I had the idea of working with dark colors and a black/white picture. The results were great and I encourage you to try it once. My inspiration for this beautiful layout and the cute picture of my daughter and my nephew.

This is a layout about my aunt and uncle. The picture was taken during World War Two, before they were married. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to meet either of them, but I love this photo. I chose a clean and simple layout to keep the focus on the picture.
