This layout happened by accident really. I was working on a couple of other pages and had just laid the scrap strips to the side. Once I started cleaning up I noticed how they were laying and knew instantly I wanted to use this picture. It came together so quickly that I have used this design several times since. This is still one of my favorite pictures of my now five-year-old son. This layout only took about 15 minutes to put together. And what scrapper doesn't need a fast and simple layout at times? Plus it uses up those beautiful scraps that we all keep. So if you only have a few minutes to yourself, pull out a favorite photo, a few strips of paper and a couple of embellies and whip up a page this afternoon.

This is the first page I made after my daughter was born and the photo was taken before she even left the hospital. I made it based on a sketch from Pagemaps. This layout is special to me because it has two of my favorite things on it: my daughter and lots of flowers!

My sons gave Goldy (the snail) a proper sendoff under a tree in the backyard, and I took a number of pictures of the preparations. Judging by Nate’s expression in the large photo, you’d think that he’d lost his best friend. I thought so too—at least until I heard him instruct his brother: “A.J.! If Mom takes your picture, remember to look sad!” The little ham! At least he understood the importance of the “proper” expression as I recorded the scene for posterity.

I made this card recently for a color challenge. Apparently alot of people find it a challenge to use yellow in their scrapbooking. I enjoy using yellow especially in a springy piece of work. I had wanted to do some stitching on tulips for a while and thought that yellow would be perfect for that. And of course I knew there'd have to be a little grass for spring. Before you know it we'll be seeing it sprouting up through the snow.
