I often look at my photos and long for them to be stunning, eye catching, and professional looking. I know in the scrapbook world, the photo is one of the most important elements. But when it comes down to it, I don't have the time to learn how to become that expert photographer. As a full-time working mom with two kids, a home, a husband, and two cats to take care of, something has to give. I can't be perfect all the time! Luckily my husband majored in photography in college, and even though he didn't pursue it as a profession, I get to use his expertise and great photos in my albums. You can tell the difference in the photos that I take versus what he takes. Mine often have lots of Photoshop processing to hide the imperfections, and his seem to come right out of the camera and right onto the layout canvas. To make up for my lack of perfect photos, I often include lots of journaling, and make telling a story the focus of my pages.

I've been scapbooking (mostly digitally) since 2005 and am a creative team member for {we are} storytellers and Corina Nielsen (funkyplaygrounddesigns). I blog regularly at http://pixelsnglue.wordpress.com. In addition to scrapbooking, I'm a novice knitter and I am learning to sew. I have two great kids, work full time, love my husband with all my heart, live in Northern California, and aspire to be a graphic designer, hopefully soon!
