Every year, my sister-in-law and her husband hold a large celebration at their home in Maryland. It’s always fun wondering what the theme will be, who we’ll get to see, and enjoying the daiquiris made with fresh strawberries! They even mix up virgin ones for the kids. My sister-in-law always plans special things for the kids including leis, toys to take home (blowup monkeys this year), and activities like inflatable water slides and musical instruments. It’s especially wonderful when we can attend as a family. My husband is active duty Air Force and is typically deployed for almost every holiday that appears on a calendar: Christmas, Valentines Day, anniversaries and even our son’s first birthday. Celebrating with him is always an occasion to be thankful for, especially when it’s in honor of the birth of our nation!

I’m a military wife, stay at home mother to 2 wonderful children, and digital scrapper, among other interests. I’ve always liked scrapping, but the frequent moves and demanding schedule of having young children made traditional paper scrapping too difficult for me to even attempt. I’d been using Shutterfly’s pre-made digital albums, but really wanted more flexibility. That’s when I started branching out into digital scrapbooking with kits, PhotoShop Elements, etc. I’ve been digiscrapping since September 2009, and recently joined the creative team for Kerry’d Away Designs.
