From retro looking cars to funky kitchens and hip clothing, the retro look is hotter than ever. And if you haven’t already, chances are you’ll start noticing it in scrapbooks. But don’t worry...this isn’t a look that requires you to invest in all new supplies. With a little bit of creativity and some mixing and matching of colors the retro look is fresh, achievable, and right at your fingertips.

Dig through your sewing kit to see if you have any funky looking patches that would make neat accents for your pages. If your children have any of the retro toys that are so hot right now snag some of the tags or packaging for accents...after all, what’s a Strawberry Shortcake page without a cute picture of Strawberry Shortcake?

But perhaps the best way to go retro is with colors...and what scrapbooker doesn’t have an array of colored cardstock and paper?

Try mixing browns or grays with oranges...it’s very groovy. Or go shocking with hot pink and bright orange and say goodbye to drab, dreary pages.

Chances are if you go to clothing stores you’ll see many of these color combinations on the racks. The retro trend is fun, different, and anything but boring. Try to have some fun with this trend...because, as we all know, it won’t be long before a new one comes along!
