A Letter from the Editor
Allison Connors
June finally brings us the warmer days of what will soon be summer. The sunshine
takes us outside as the world opens up to have fun. We have much to celebrate
this month with Father’s Day around the corner, many weddings to attend and
schools out, which brings us graduations. We also have a new designer added to
our team. Please join me in welcoming Lynne Wilson, who comes to us from Ohio.
To read about Lynne and our other designers, see
Meet the Scrapbooking.com
Design Team. So, grab yourself a glass of refreshing ice tea and settle down
with us as we intrigue you with our magazine this fine June.
“I do”, I can hear the words drifting over the sweet smell of flowers lining the
church aisles. I know that I need ideas of what to create with all of the
wonderful wedding photos I have collected. If you find yourself in the same
situation, be sure to read Lynne’s article,
How to Make a Circle Journal. Lynne
focuses on creating this quick and easy project that you can share with friends
and family alike. Looking for more ways to make your wedding pages shine? Click
on over and see what Chris has created in
Ribbon Grandeur, where she takes the
elegance of ribbon to adorn her pages, which brings forth so much beauty.
Speaking of beauty, Gimi’s article,
Chalk Marbling, is another way to add
gorgeous elements to your scrapbook pages and other paper crafts.
Father’s Day is quickly approaching; why not make some very special cards for
your very special Dad, Grandpa or Uncle Jim. Sheila shares with you great ways
to create cards in
10 Cards that Say I Love Dad. For inspiration on what to do
for masculine pages, be sure to check out Deanna’s article,
Paint It, Stamp It,
Sew It! Masculine Pages Using Veggie Leather. See how to use this unique product
in so many ways. Lynne also shares with you a few ideas in her article about the
Dymo Label Maker. See how you can incorporate this “older” office tool to bring
new life to your pages about Dad.
Now that school is over, how much will your kids remember year after year? Go to
the head of the class with Jenny’s article,
School
is Out, Vacation Time is Here! Jenny reaches beyond education and encourages
us to photograph things in school besides reading, writing and arithmetic. Let
Jenny inspire you to scrapbook these memories over your summer vacation, and you
will be sure to remember what you liked and didn’t like about your school years.
While you’re scrapbooking this summer, perhaps it’s not a bad idea to go back to
school -- scrapbooking school that is. Refresh your memory or learn as a
beginner in my article,
Back to Basics-Color 101.
See how to use color effectively and get your layouts to say more than what you
journal.
Setting the
Stage is Joan’s article, where you can learn how to create your own
background pages using Alphabet stamps, colors and more.
Get creative with our designers as they showcase wonderful techniques and ideas
in our other articles,
A Splash of Color by Michelle,
A Triple Play - The Great
Outdoors by Debra and
Creative Fonts by Jlyne.
Here’s hoping you have a bright and sunny June filled with lots of time for
creating family memories!
Happy Scrapping!
