Paper Dolls

By Alison Beachem

Paper dolls have come along way since I was a kid. I don't even think I played with paper dolls. But, now that I have found paper doll die cuts, I am hooked. I love mixing and matching my cardstock and patterned paper to match what the people are wearing in my photos.

There are many ways to "dress up" these dolls. You can use patterned paper or create your own patterns with stamps. Cut the dolls so that you add action to their stance. For example, cut the arms and re-adhere them reaching upwards. You can also add things for them to hold in the hands.

There are so many textured papers available like: corrugated, fuzzy, bumpy, embossed, etc. Use a velvet for hair or an embossed stripe for corduroy. The possibilities are endless.

Paper dolls can be designed and personalized by the creator of the album. Your creativity will shine through as you play with these paper people.

The paper doll die cuts in these layouts are Jill Rinner's from Accu-Cut. There are many paper doll templates coming out on the market this year as well. Keep an eye out for these new products and get started with your own creations.
