Start with a whole sheet of
paper. I like using a clear, 3” wide by 24” clear quilting ruler
with a grid on it. Then I can really see where I’m going and the marks
I’ve already made. (See example for page set up.) Using a quick
drying, acid-free ink pad, stamp flowers at alternating levels. Using a
black pen and following the pencil lines, make uneven squiggly lines down both
side of the flower. Erase the pencil lines. Using the broad tip of
the calligraphy pen (Splash), drag the wide edge down the page, with a slight
squiggle. Using the fine tip (Splash) repeat in between, skipping the
rose. Color in the flower.
Trim ¼” off top and one side
of the pink checked paper. Mount on black cardstock. It is at this
point that I will trim the handmade paper to 7 ¾” x 10 ¼” and then mount
on the pink check, leaving a 3/8” border. Mount on black, leaving a
1/8” border. Cut the text box. Stamp Cupid on lower right
corner. Mount on pink check, then on black. Place pictures on patterned
paper.
