A big thanks to all of
our readers who sent in suggestions for potty training picture layouts!!
From Virginia:
A good place to start is
with bathroom things. You could title the page using a fairly heavy
vellum paper that was drawn upon to look like unfurled toilet paper: one
letter of the title per sheet of TP. I can even see embossing the
letters of the title directly on vellum, then backing the title with a
nice, pastel TP colored paper. Pre-embossed vellum would work great
since the patterns on it would resemble 'quilted' toilet paper. A
cut-out of a toilet as a journaling box would also be cute. If you have
to employ special incentives to encourage potty use, like I do,
make sure you journal all the details.
From Tricia:
-
POTTY-POURRI (Potpourri) A
watched potty never toils (A watched pot never boils)
-
No more diapers! Then make
a diaper that opens with a picture of the child inside.
-
It's my potty and I'll try
when I want to! (It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!)
-
I also thought that it
would be cute to use a die cut of a toilet and have a picture of the
child "standing" in the toilet.
From Arts and Hearts:
I would suggest a picture
that the mom take a comical view of the child's success. For example
have the child stand on the toilet and clap hands or have them throwing
diapers into the trash can or another version standing on the
toilet with arms up flexing muscles "I did it!"
Possible ideas for theme:
bath items, toothbrush, duck, boat, fish, bubbles, waves, sea creatures,
etc. Also the parent could make a gold metal out of ribbon and cardboard
and gold writer or gold spray paint and place the child again on the
toilet. Cropping out just under the top of the bowl might help too. Then
your page could emphasize the moment more than the bath itself by using
an award theme on the page; make or find a mini "potty training
academy" diploma or related award sticker (school supply store).
