Crop-In-Style
By Helen Naylor

At the very first scrapbooking show I ever attended, I made the mistake of not taking anything to carry my purchases in. A friend had advised me to take a backpack or something, but I didn’t really think that it was that important, so I ignored her. When I arrived, I saw women with everything from carts to luggage with wheels. And after I had been there for a few hours I realized that there was a very good reason for this. In a very short period of time, you can acquire a lot of merchandise! You get tired arms and an aching back very quickly! So I vowed not to make that mistake again!

When we arrived at the booth (on Super Bowl Sunday, with a large screen TV on the big event) we were excited to finally see what the buzz was all about. And there it was – the Mother of All Totes…The Crop-In-Style XXL in all its glory! And it is big, really big! The front and one side have clear pockets with Velcro strips on the top flaps to keep everything organized, but in view.  I opened up the other side and SURPRISE! There were 4 pairs of scissors included in the package!  There is elastic to hold 20 pairs of scissors. Inside the top lid of the tote is a pocket with a board that comes out, and with the aid of Velcro, forms a triangle and holds 75 pens. Then there are the pockets on the inside and the dividers, which help to keep your products organized. It has a pull out handle like those available in luggage and makes transportation easy. The two handles on the side make it easy to pick up, load and unload.

For the average scrapbooker, this tote offers great options. Because there is so much space for tools, you can most likely keep all your tools in one place. When you are ready to work, you just roll it into your workspace, put it on a chair close to you and unzip the outside pockets. It is very helpful in keeping your space organized. It puts your scissors and punches in full view, which reduces the time you spend looking for things. Just put the tools back in their space, zip it up and it’s ready for next time. (We all know how important seeing the top of your dining room table can be!) It is easy to maneuver around the house or when you need to take your supplies to a crop away from home.  Just grab it and go! It is a very sturdy tote. It will hold a laptop and a small printer plus lots of brochures and company information, so it is a hit with all of us on the travel circuit. But for scrapbookers, it really is the Mother of All Totes and an ideal companion for home and for the road.  Because of their popularity, they are quickly snatched up at stores and the shows I have attended.
